“Well Vorgen my boy, it seems there are plenty of fine ladies to help ease off some tension if you know what I mean.” started Zakroth.
“Ummm sure.” Replied Vorgen as he headed to the counter to order up some ale.
“What do you mean by just sure? Have you seen the bosoms around here? They’re quite generous in size. Come on, walk up to one of them and make her yours.”
“I’d rather not, just let me drink in peace.”
“Like hell I will. What’s the problem? Don’t tell me you’re as skilled with the ladies as you are with a sword.” laughed Zakroth.
Vorgen let out a sigh. “Women just don’t seem to be all that interested in me, that’s all. No worries.”
“Vorgen, have you ever seen a pair of breasts?” Zakroth asked bluntly.
“Of course I have!” replied Vorgen.
“Is that so? What do they look like then?”
“Well they’re round, spherical almost.”
“Do they have anything else on them?”
“Of course, they obviously have the same thing men have on their chest.”
“Like hair right?” asked Zakroth slowly.
“Yes of course hair, what else?”
“By the gods, the boy hasn’t seen a naked woman yet!” Zakroth yelled out.
Vorgen sipped away at his ale feeling completely humiliated.
“No problem boy, I’ll teach you how to woe one of these wenches. See that brunette just over there? Walk up to her and repeat everything I tell you.”
Vorgen got up from his seat and walked up to the brunette who was standing near the counter. “Good day there wench, I noticed you were blessed with two generous sized meat sacks on your chest. What would you say we go up to a room where we can take advantage of these gifts?”
The woman grabbed her glass and threw it at Vorgen’s face before storming off.
“Hmm that’s odd, that line used to work all the time. Let’s try that red hair over there.”
Vorgen walked up to the red haired woman sitting by the entertainment section. “Good wench, I am a powerful knight that has travelled far and wide throughout these lands slaying beasts of all sizes and saving the weak from the ruthless. My veins flow with the blood of the nobles from at least 4 generations past. If you were to join me in a room upstairs and spread those beautiful legs of yours, you would benefit of my noble lineage.”
Shocked, the girl grabbed Vorgen by the shoulders and rammed her knee as hard as she could into his groin. The room went black as Vorgen passed out from the pain.
Vorgen opened his eyes slowly to find a light brown haired girl holding a pack of something cold up against his groin. He quickly got up and shuffled back using his hands to back away from the girl. “What are you doing?”
“Sorry replied the girl, my father saw you take the hit back there and go down hard, he brought you back here and told me to watch over you until you wake up. You know, you need to learn to talk to girls a bit better.” The girl said with a smile.
“Ugh, you’re telling me.” Vorgen replied as he grabbed the cold pack against his groin. “Let’s just say I shouldn’t listen to anymore advice from a certain friend.” Vorgen replied as he looked at his helmet sitting next to him.
The girl laughed, “My name is Lynria, what’s yours? And what brings you to my father’s tavern?”
“I’m Vorgen, Vorgen Dbow and I’m just passing through here on my way north.”
“North? You’re heading towards Omega? There are rumours circulating that their armies have been moving a lot lately. Some say they are preparing for war. With whom though, no one knows. You should be wary as they may not like having just anyone crossing their borders during these times. They’re quite a reclusive country.”
“Thank you for the tip, I’ll be careful.” Vorgen replied as he avoided Lynria’s powerful eyes looking right at him.
Lynria brought her face a little closer to Vorgen’s “Why do you look away from me?” she asked.
Vorgen brought his eyes back up to meet Lynria’s and looked at her for a few seconds in awe until he noticed that the way she was resting on her hands looking at him, he could see a little inside her tunic. “Ow!” Vorgen yelled as he pressed the cold pack against his groin to help ease the pain.
Lynria laughed again and stood up. “You seem to be a pretty sweet man Vorgen, my father said you could stay here the night to heal up. I don’t think you’ll be able to do much riding in that condition.” As she nodded towards his groin. “See you in the morning.” And she walked out the room closing the door behind her.
“Injured once again, your patheticness just won’t stop surprising me will it?”
“I’m in this position thanks to your advice!” replied Vorgen.
“Well it seems I may be a bit out of touch with the times. Back in my day, those lines would have wooed a woman instantly.”
***
A few days passed as Vorgen took the time to heal all his wounds and soon set out north to seek out the legendary blade of Trengreyk. The sword was in an old tomb located in a valley many days north of the tavern he had stayed at. Days turned into weeks and Vorgen’s bond with Zakroth continued to grow. Eventually, Vorgen arrived at the entrance to the valley. A few guards stood guard to the entrance and more were probably inside. They wore heavy armor with red clothing underneath and on their chest was a white crest with a red shape inside resembling an upside down U.
“These guys look serious, not like the NEA soldiers you fought. There may be more of them inside the valley.”
“Why are there guards to an old tomb? Exactly what kind of burial ground is this?”
“It appears to be a royal burial ground to this country. If I recall correctly, we would be in the lands of Omega.”
“Great.” Vorgen replied. He looked at his gear and at his clothing. He had no armour except for his helmet and only carried a sword which he wasn’t all that great at using yet. A few cooking appliances and some food were tied to his horse but that was it.
What will Vorgen do?
