Grepolis

Same game makers who brought us TW... It's a Greek island TW/'twist' game, I have been playing it for a while.
It is fun IMHO, different from TW in lots of ways, seems to favor the defender but is also changing weekly with updates and 'tweeks' to keep a balance. Oh, and there is BBcodes to use! along with buttons to put them on for you.
It is all about city building, technology researching, troop building, farming villages and other players, fighting peoples cities and capturing them, gathering 'culture' points to enable more cities to be owned, gaining the 'favor' of the gods to cast spells and get mythical creatures to join your side and fight for you - some are offensive and others more defensive. It's about gathering loot, defense against land and sea invaders, rebuilding armies, social forums among your alliance and within your 'world' or game-wide.
It 'can' take as much of your time as you want to put into it.

Make sure you have plenty of farm slots available to build a large army, a large warehouse to store your spoils and a team of 'gatherers' to farm for resources --or troops from the nearby villages.

I am on Beta (normal speed) in strength and Epsilon (2xfast) weakly.
The 'stats' site is: http://www.grepostats.com/ and this is what some of the battles etc look like:

How much you getting payed to advertise?
It was wise to run the tutorial
FEAR in greek times anyone? :O
Im down.
I refuse to be pulled back into something like TW. I can't play another game that has such time management issues.
I tried this game back when it just started. It was this game or one very similar. Unless they really improved it ,i found it very lacking. It took forever to "attack" someone. Nice idea, but like all online games i will never be pulled into one again.
I might play it, just to test the waters.
I'm going to have to agree with senator. I'm done with TW and other such games.
If it's a game that takes up a lot of time, but you can put it down any time you want and not have to worry about incoming attacks while you sleep or stuff like that, I could be persuaded to play. I just won't play anything else that you have specific timing you have to worry about.
