For those of you who didn't notice; Disney has a habit of releasing it's movies on DVD or whatever for short periods of time. They run in batches (as do most movies). Like Nintendo games, they sell out fast (the good ones anyway) and typically become unavailable until some re-release years later.
Anyway, also for those of you who don't know; Disney has been a big importer of anime done by Studio Ghibli. Ghibli is the Disney of anime. They do BIG, overwhelmingly successful, movies that are typically dubbed classics as soon as they are released.
Now, I've compared them to Disney, so, basically it's not for everyone, but they're good, decent at least. Trust me.
Ok, so for the point of this topic... now that you're all up to speed:
Like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Pinnochio, and whatever else has been re-released, Disney is re-releasing the Ghibli classics on Disney DVD (and bluRay? Maybe? I forget).
So, this means that people can finally buy "Laputa: Castle in the Sky", "Totoro", "Howl's Moving Castle", "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind", "Princess Mononoke", "Spirited Away", etc...
You'll notice that there's some epics in that list.
Note that some of these aren't for kids... Especially not Mononoke.
So don't be getting these for your babies unless you know which one you're looking at. (For example, Totoro is just fine for kids).
Just a service announcement.
