Ah the good old days.

I seem to remember a period of time where the only anime available was high quality. Just before Adult Swim began airing the massive success Gundam Wing there were three big anime names out there that dominated the scene.

Those were: Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, and da da daaaaaa Trigun. Yes they're all cowboyish animes, but that was the trend back then.

Trigun is about a superhuman known as Vash, coined to be a "Humanoid Typhoon" because apparently, some time before the show starts, he went on a rampage and destroyed several cities single handed.

Why is it called Trigun? I suppose he may have 3 guns? Hard to say, 3 of anything was never stressed in the series. It's done in a futuristic western style like so many other animes, and Vash is basically the king of cowboys.

Of course he never rides a horse, but he reins supreme in a gunfight. He is known to be able to hit an entire room of people between the eyes while it looks like he's simply falling to the ground.

That's enough for the setting... the plot is essentially made up of people pretending to be Vash, and then Vash actually showing up (by accident) and kicking the tar out of them in a light-hearded "woops did I accidentally shoot you and your crew while I was tied up somehow? ...huh..." type way.

The story eventually escalates by having an actual dominant enemy who isn't just a Vash impersonator. Then there's some stuff about Vash's origins and whatnot. It's good stuff.

This series is a classic, and a very big name, and it lives up to it's reputation.
8/10
This series always made me crack up. Something about Vash's antics just really hit the funny bone.
