10 days late, but I've finally gotten around to it. My GotM is...

I haven't bothered to do a mini-review for this yet, but I'll cover some basics briefly:-
Pros
* Large selection of weaponry with lots of additional attachments.
* The storyline itself was very competent, and felt somewhat akin to an episode of 24.
* Improved graphics and some rather lovely new death animations.
* The online multi-player is absolutely terrific (pretty much an extention of CoD4:MW but that's precisely what I was expecting) and has some great new maps.
* Spec Ops is totally brilliant. I was hoping that I'd eventually get to play that Ghillie sniper mission in co-op.
* Gatling guns everywhere. Mounted on vehicles, low walls, Apache helicopter, AC-130 gunship, actual automated turrets.
* The new 3rd person viewpoint for some of the game-types is surprisingly solid.
* Infinity Ward obviously took inspiration for the first 2 missions from 7-part TV series Generation Kill. They did a superb job.
* You can now equip suppressors on pretty much every weapon online.
* The soundtrack was terrific.
* The mission "No Russian" was pretty shocking first time around.
Cons
* It doesn't feel as 'brutal' compared to World at War due to the lack of dismemberment caused by gunfire and explosions.
* The single player missions aren't nearly as consistently superb compared to CoD4:MW. In this, there are far too many missions that just blend into each other due to being endless shoot-outs (which can start to grate). The lack of on-rails vehicle missions is also hugely disappointing.
* It gets a little too political for my liking.
* This mysterious Ghost character. Either Gaz recieved horrific facial scars from that Desert Eagle shot to the face and survived or it's his twin brother.
* The ending was strangely abrupt.
* Why isn't there normal Team Tactical online? That was my favourite mode in CoD4:MW.
* Whilst the maps are good, they're not as enjoyable as the prequel.
* Where has the MP5 gone? MP5k isn't half as good.
Overall: 9/10
Whilst not being consistently brilliant in all areas like CoD4:MW, the new additions and the online multiplayer still make this an excellent game and one extremely recommended (although who needs a recommendation? Everyone has heard of it!).
