Captcha images aren't that tough for a good robot. I've programmed systems to read text more insane than those.

Plus, we're all forgetting that these days "bots" are sometimes kids who are trying to get "points for free online gifts" by signing up for websites and whatnot through demographic tracking websites. They basically go to different webpages, sign up for stuff, fill out forms, whatever. Then they get 5 points they can put toward AN IPOD NANO! WOOOOOO.

Stupid freaking iPods. Ruining everything.

Good marketing though.
