I always had this idea when building this site and thought i'd share it with you guys.
While building the site I was thinking that "Spread the FEAR across the internet" would be kind of our new motto knowing that we'd grow more and more distant from TW.
Today I was thinking that one possible way to spread the FEAR online would be to locate an innocent forum somewhere in cyberspace and just "run" through it. Have everyone here create and account and go make some kind of post in those forums. We would effectively be spreading the FEAR. We could pick a different forum every month or so.
So what do you guys think of this idea? Good? Bad? Creative? Childish? Fun?
Silly, Childish, but could be hilariously funny if handled properly.
The right site would have to be chosen and no one could be obscene or anything like that. Posts would have to be done with humor and not just random spam to clog up someone else's forum. We don't want the same thing to happen to us in reverse. We want to attract attention to ourselves, but not by annoying people.
I'm down for some internet tagging. Just no flaming.
right, like you guys are saying. Nothing stupid and no spamming...just going in and each entering a post one after another in good taste.
Let's just avoid those satan worshiper sites
Also any programmer's forum is a no no...don't want this site getting hacked
Hmm, I suggest a private forum for this thread and the planning of these types of raids --ex-TW and respected members of the Tavern only - not open to the public or someone who just signs up.
The best secrets aren't shared with anyone else...

Alright...i'll prepare a hidden forum for anyone replying in this thread by tomorrow....you guys start looking for a target forum.
Our first target should be relatively small...about 50-100 members and decently active.
...perhaps we could pose a challenge of some sort to their members "Our block is tougher than your block!" on a humorous or intellectual level...
We could ask if they have any kind of board contests--and if they have prizes - the competition is for a T-shirt lets say - for the site to claim and dispense as deemed by the members. Maybe a "Flat Stanley" kind of thing, or a game competition (although I must admit I can't compete with this board on the games we have posted -too old and slow no doubt...) perhaps we could challenge them to use their members to write a story - one word at a time - only one entry per member - in the shortest amount of time - one side makes the rules and the other side gets to START the event - perhaps picking an 'off time' to gain an advantage etc. we try to be fair and make it fun for members of both forums - (think of Olympic games between city-states in ancient Greece).
We should think this through and get a handle on it before we begin so we can take credit for it when it becomes a Internet sensation overnight. We have to have a name that 'Spreads the Fear', our name/site, and think up several challenges to have available for the other site to choose from...
this is lame guys. Seriously, this tavern is cool but this idea wreaks of "get a life" i am sure you could do far more productive things with the tavern or your lives.
