Nalot suggests that before running all over the island we search the house for Tom and Toby before leaving to search outside. After the house is searched we should get some breakfast before searching the island in earnest.
Group up anyway decided upon but we should be looking for clues at the crime scene rather than some "BoogieMan" that will stand out like a sore thumb--the killer may be in the room with us now, we should try to determine if there is any proof as to who did OR didn't commit this murder.
Nodding slightly I know Eric is right with his idea of staying in groups. I also think it's better if we divide up the mansion crew... after all they have the most motivation for killing Mable as none of us knew her. Trying to be inconspicuous about my theory, I offer a plausible suggestion:
"I think small groups is a good idea but maybe we should do a cursory search as a group first? There's no reason to break up right now. But I think we should each have someone from the house with us since they have a better feel for hiding places, etc..."
Tricky decides that someone from the island committed the murder, although hes got no idea who. He slips unnoticed into the kitchen to grab one of the knives that Al spoke of. Afterwards he returns to the group saying "we shouldn't remain in a single group. It's more difficult to recognize if someone has disappeared in a large group as opposed to a small 3 man team."
Eric supports tiny's suggestion about having somone from the mansion with the groups. Eric then carefully checks the body and the area around the body for any clues. Perhaps a footprint in the pools of blood around her. Eric also keeps his temporary weapon with him. He seems strangly calm for the situation. People would guess that he is the kinda person who calms his nerves with action. A fight instead of a flight kinda guy.
"Well the only obvious suspects with motives is Tom or Toby. Didn't they have some kind of fight last night? We need to talk to them first. Preferably one at a time."
"Who are you guys, Sherlock Holmes? We need to call the police or something. She was MURDERED! And brutally at that. For all we know the killer is standing in the room with us right now." Doesn't rule out members of the crew or passengers, remembering how paranoid they were all acting towards their hosts.

HAHAHAHAHA
Nice
"call the police? With what phone!? And do you actually think there's a police station anywhere around here?? We're in the middle of nowhere! We need to take the safety of our lives into our own hands"
Unfortunately for you MSJ, I still only see one star for rojerton, so you have crippled old man hands.

"Captain, didn't the ship have some sort of communication device on it? Why don't we go back and get that and try to call for help?"
