Ok, so here's the deal:
Politicians and Economists have two things in common. I want to punch most of them in the face, and they think it's cool to pretend to be environmentalists or humanitarians when its convenient, but then, of course, are hypocrites as soon as the opportunity arises.
Now this may twist into "why I hate service providers" again, but maybe not, here goes:
Point in case, and bear with me on this because this is one of the most retarded things I have ever heard:
Many of you recall there was a strike for a million years because the garbagemen decided they were a hot commodity and needed to have fluffers with them at all times. Obviously, the mayor said "screw you, no one gets fluffers, why should garbage men? You freaking pick up the garbage." He was right and the union suffered a massive blow because:
- everyone hates them more than they did before
- they are acting like little kids who have just been yelled at, and are making sure the mayor doesn't get invited to public events
- they are still pretending that "fluffers for the garbage men" was actually in the budget, but just didn't want to give it to them because he's a meanie, but everyone knows they only think this because they are 4 year-olds in disguise
- they still think that people want their union to exist, when in reality we all want mutant dolphins to chainsaw their administrative headquarters, so they won't even know we're coming
Ok, that's off topic, because here's the result of the strike:
- people threw away less garbage because they were more conservative this summer, because hauling garbage themselves is too much work
Well, that worked out good, right? Hmm, apparently not, says the "Solid Waste Authority". The Solid Waste Authority is basically the council that takes care of the city dump. Here's the problem, because we used less of the dump this year, they got less money from the city, and are suing for damages.
Are you freaking kidding me? We threw out less garbage so you're suing for reparations because you EXPECTED us to throw out more!!?
It gets worse, because they will by no means get this money because it's ridiculous, they are INCREASING DISPOSAL FEES. Yes, you heard me right, less garbage = less dumping = less money for the dump. So, to fix this they are doing the following:
- trying to sue the city, which will never work, you idiots (by the way, this would increase property taxes)
- increasing dumping fees, as a penalty for not dumping more (by the way, this would increase property taxes)
- trying to find garbage, and get it imported to our dump (this means we'd have to MAKE a new dump sooner, and INCREASE FREAKING PROPERTY TAXES)
Increasing dumping fees because we're throwing away less garbage is astronomically retarded. What happened to "less garbage is the greener way", "less garbage = less disposal = less cost = better quality of life", huh? What happened to that? No, it's "they took our JOBS! they took our 'we own the place where garbage goes' JOBS!". Charging more because we threw out less garbage is almost as stupid as increasing the cost of electricity because people are conserving it so well, that the power companies are loosing money.
Oh wait, they are doing that.
Yes, you heard it right folks.
They are actually doing that.
In Ontario we get raped through our eye-sockets to get electricity. We produce so damn much of it via hydroelectric, wind, and nuclear plants that we basically power the province, the state of Ohio, and half of Michigan. We sell our freaking electricity for cheap and we pay DEARLY for it because every year we get bitched at for "using too much energy". Yes, that's been the message for as long as I've been breathing.
Know what, I don't freaking buy it. I bet we're using less electricity. Know why?
Modern refrigerators use 1/10 th the electricity of their older counterparts.
Modern computers use 1/10 th, so do modern air conditioning units. Are these numbers mostly made up, yes.
Are they almost accurate, yes.
The robots made today use less, and don't forget that half of the manufacturing plants that exist in the province aren't even running anymore, so how could we POSSIBLY be so at risk of running out of electricity?
Here's the latest news from Ontario's electricity supplier:
"Because of the cool summer, people used less air conditioning, thus using less electricity. To make up for this loss we are going to increase energy prices."
At that moment, I reached through the radio and exacted force destruction all over his face. Unfortunately that's the only untrue statement in this rant.
Yes, energy prices are going up, and why?
Is it because global warming puts too much strain on the power grid?
Is it because we're running out and it's all about supply and demand?
Is it because a power plant exploded and they need to factor in the cost of rebuilding?
No, it's because "they took our jobs". Yes, we took their "we sell you electricity jobs". This doesn't make any sense, and here's where it call comes together:
If you tell the people that conservation is the key to a better future BUT you tell them that you want to MAKE jobs, you are a massive freaking deceptive liar and need to be punted through the freaking looking glass.
MAKE-ing jobs is the last thing I want to hear, ever.
MAKE-ing jobs had a name back in the 20's, it was called a "boondoggle". Something that wastes vast amounts of time and money on a hopeless endeavor.
Back in the 20s they had that depression thing, it was crap and no one had jobs. So a politician said "hey, let's make some jobs, and give them to the jobless". So they did that, they made up useless jobs in an effort to give people money so they could later re-inject it into the economy. This was the first time the term "boondoggle" was used, because it was fruitless and a WASTE! You're not going to MAKE money by throwing it at some other people and hoping it makes it back to you worth more.
You freaking MADE those jobs! If the farmer had a field he wasn't jobless, so instead of giving him money to plant a crop and MAKE VALUE, you gave it to people who did.... stuff... stuff that didn't have value, because it was a fake job that the government ONLY INVESTED IN TO MAKE A JOB FOR YOU.
THAT is a WASTE. Why do people even get a chance to speak when they're hell bent on making waste so their organization can be funded better? Know why boondoggles often go on for too long? Two reasons:
- the workers don't want to tell the investors that their labors are fruitless because they get a salary, and if they didn't keep "plugging away" they'd loose that salary
- the investors are embarrassed they have been so stupid to hang on so long, and to not draw attention via severance, they just keep going
Don't think that happens? Look what happened to RCA's SelectaVision. Don't know what that is? Because it was a 15 year project that wasted millions and DID NOTHING.
Here's an other reason I hate politicians:
Canada might have to go to elections again. Why? Didn't you just have one?
Why yes, yes we did.
Here's why:
Remember that minority government thing I was angry about on the forum sooooomeone broke? Well, in Canada we have a million political parties, including one that wants to dissolve the country and sleep with their cousins. Here's the big joke, the entire province of Quebec votes for them, but no one else is allowed to, because they don't have representatives in other provinces. So, the purpose of that party is to ENSURE that a group of votes (that turns into representatives in parliament) are used in the most destructive ways possible.
Ok, when less than half the country votes for whoever won and is the current King of Canada, that king has to argue with parliament to get things done. The problem is that if more than half the parliament is against him, he can't do anything.
So, basically, the opposition parties (parties who lost the last election) are being whiny bitches and trying to get in power, here's their excuse:
- the prime minister doesn't want to work with us on some key subjects, namely job losses, pension losses, and credit card laws
So, they're saying this:
"If you don't take our advice we're going to FORCE an election in the fall. So, you have a choice, either work with us on issues, or make Canada waste boatloads of money on a useless election for no reason."
Know what, opposition party, you have a choice too:
"Stop being a freaking bag of retards and shut the hell up, or, make Canada waste boatloads of money on a useless election for no reason"
Really, the ball's in your court.
They said their junk during a press conference, and someone asked the looser: "what would you like the prime minister to do regarding those three key issues?"
His response:
"We want him to work with us on them, instead of just doing what he wants. Canada voted for a minority government, that means we get a say too."
*silence*
"With those three issues, we want to, do things, specific things that are outlined in our policy that require action. That's what we want, action on these issues, and you know we can show you action. Remember the credit card laws***, we got action on that."
So, did you get all that? Yes, you're right, the "job" of the opposition is to be as vague on their own stand as possible so people get confused into putting the prime minister out of power.
There are 3 main parties going against the current power, they stand for:
Party A - Doing everything the current leader does, only slightly differently, and claim to be way different, also they like gay people more.
Party B - Workers and worker's unions, and making jobs, and being "competitive".
Party C - Breaking up Canada as a nation. Making sure Quebec gets a golden statue of a giant nude fat man in every town.
Does it sound like they aggree on stuff? No, they don't, not even close. But get this, the people who voted for them now collectively stand for whatever those 3 parties can decide among themselves. WTF? If I voted for party A I'd be the angriest person ever if my vote was helping party C erect their giant tributes to gaydom. I would literally suplex that statue so severely that gold would take a 5 year vacation from the periodic table. Yes, no more Detroit gangster teeth for 5 freaking years, deal with it.
So now this clown is telling the people that this is what we want. No, this is not what we want. You want to MAKE jobs for people running electoral booths, counting votes, bonus salary fluff for your party members to spend on secretaries and miscellaneous garbage. It costs the country millions but whatever, right? As long as we keep burning out lightbulbs and throwing away our trash, and having an election every 12 months I'm sure that money will just circulate back into the economy and make everything better right? Hopefully you all have your sarcasm masks on, or you just died.
That's all for now.

Almost forgot this footnote...
Anyway, who cares about credit card laws anyway? I say gauge away. If some retard was stupid enough to spend 4 million dollars he didn't have a rats chance in hell of obtaining he needs to suffer for his idiocy.
I'm a freaking genius who doesn't need a safety net to save me from accidentally borrowing money at a high interest rate.
If you don't have the cash you can NOT spend it OR YOU LOOSE FOREVER.
Why do morons keep getting catered to? Why isn't government spending money on people like me instead, by mailing me presents for every month I don't accidentally gamble away more money than I have?
Getting less things is the penalty for not having more money.
If you get more things, but have no money, you get a different penalty, and I don't see why you think our economy can be sustainable when it ONLY WORKS WHEN PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS WITH THEIR MONEY!
Why are there government incentives to put money into savings when we hear every day that "people didn't buy as much crap this month, therefore the economy is broken". Way to inject the hypocrisy, way to go.
