Anyone play Spore? Anyone else get disappointed when they found they HAD to leave the water when they were done the fish stage?
I wanted to be a sea beast, some massive ferocious devourer of everything. So, I got to thinking, why is there no game like that? Is there a game like that?
A game where you're some deep sea monstrosity that lurks in the darkness, devouring giant squid and overturning ships. Yeah, I need a game like that.
Pour yourself a bath, throw in some ice cubes and pirate ships and put on some goggles.

Clearly you've never played Spore.
You upgrade yourself as generations pass, making yourself more suited to what you want to do.
So, survive with a jaws and a stinger, and when you get a chance to evolve you can choose to give yourself better teeth, or perhaps more stingers, or maybe more legs. Whatever. That influences how you move and operate in the game.
Spore needs to come out with a sea version of their game for the 3D aspect alone.
My sea beast would have tusks like nobody's business.
I enjoyed spore, i just found it got boring when i got into space and no longer had an army.
Yeah, I stopped playing right after the tribal stage.
....I didn't even like the tribal stage.
Imagine if the land stage allowed you to remain aquatic, and went on for the duration of the game.
It would be awesome, so many new Buildings and variations. It probably would cause them to think to hard and create a game that excelled past all others.
What stage is it where you have to try and capture the world i enjoyed that, i got to nuke all my enemies!

Capture the world was the civilization phase. I didn't really get far into that phase. I much preferred mauling other species rather than attacking cities of my own people in a dumbed down version of Civ...
Dagnabbit, I want to make a deep sea epic terrorbeast. I'd call it the "Abyssal Yak" (to keep it light hearted) and it would be the most foreboding beast of all time.
