Ok, you folks already know how I feel about unions, well, you may think you do, so here's the skinny:
The union, for what it was created for, was a good thing. Unfortunately, three large unions that I am familiar with are ruining the world because they became too powerful. Kind of like a dictatorship, in some places it would bring the good times, till it gets exploited as it invariably will.
I'm going to complain about 3 major unions in this case, but I won't use their abbreviations or real names because I don't feel like it.
The auto workers union, the city workers union, and the road workers union.
Back when I was but a lad, I only thought of the auto workers union as this thing that made my life incredibly inconvenient. If I was working in a factory I wasn't allowed to touch anything without direct permission from 50 people or some union retard would freak out and act like a total idiot. Now I see that the auto workers union is worse than just a system that ensures that anyone non-unionized has the annoyance of their life trying to get things done, they also ruin the world.
For example:
1) A year back a unionized tool shop told their workers: "we are getting raped by the economy, if we want to keep our doors open we have to cut your wages by 10%". The workers voted and had like 90% approval. The union stepped in and said "no, you can't agree to work for less because then other people might try the same thing". To which the tool shop replied "ok, we quit". Yes, they closed, 200 people lost their jobs because they were unionized. Good work.
2) An average union worker at the factory I worked at made 30 bucks an hour, got 6 weeks of vacation a year, got an insane benefits package, a pension, and worked 7.5 hour days during which they mostly sat there doing nothing. That is ridiculous. A worker like that is never worth that kind of money. The union thinks they are. They're wrong.
3) I have a cousin who is 20, and an electrician. He will not be working as an electrician for the foreseeable future because, although he would be making less than half of what an electrician gets at the big 3, because the union only cares about how long you've been there, not how good you are, or how hard you'll work.
Now, the city workers union. They are idiots. The mayor can not give a pension plan to future hires. Can not. But, they are complaining that he doesn't want to go to 3rd party negotiation to get to a median. There is no room for a median. City workers don't deserve a pension plan, they pick up garbage, that is not a skilled trade or profession. They have been on strike for over a month now.
I hope that union gets ousted in favor of a commercial firm. It's happened before in Canadian cities. Actually, more and more BFI is being hired to do the city work instead of city workers. I really hope so. I really dearly hope those striking whining bitches loose their jobs, and I hope it's made clear that the reason is because they're not worth negotiation effort or the wages they've been getting.
I told you that they picketed the mayor's house right? Him and his baby daughter had to go past the picket line on the way to her daycare. That's freaking retarded. Pickup my garbage or I'll get someone else to do it. It's not a tough skill. I honestly hope BFI gets the job, or even better, a pack of dead wombats. At least then they'll get a taste of the reality of their situation instead of the fairytale they've been living in.
Here's a new one for you guys. The road workers union, or construction, or whatever it is. I actually have no idea. Honestly, I only hate the public service announcement they've been giving.
They've been saying:
"What is the mayor's plan to get new jobs into the city? The federal government wants to build a huge road right through the city, it would make 5 million high paying local jobs, but the mayor wants to make it illegal! Does that sound like a good plan!!? Mayor, you are stupid!".
Again, what the hell is wrong with you retards? The government wants to build a freaking massive road directly through EVERYTHING. Homes, schools, malls, everything. It would direct trucks and burning barrels of tar directly through the middle of the city. Oh no, the mayor isn't jumping at the chance to MAKE JOBS FOR YOU. BOO HOO.
Whenever I heard the term "make jobs" I shutter. That's what it's doing, it's taking money from one place, and tossing it into an other place after a certain percentage is lost. That is not going to boost the economy. It's the same as a stimulus package, except that instead of it just being free money, it's you going to work, and destroying your city without any thought.
So shut the hell up union, you don't know what you're talking about, it isn't about the jobs. Furthermore, whenever I heard a union announcement, and they use the word "jobs", it sounds to me just like how a caveman would grunt "gazelle". Stop licking your freaking lips and imagining a world where your union will be once again useful. It sucks, it's ruining our life, so just leave. The only reason the union even exists is because the executives are highly payed, who wouldn't want to preserve that?
I bet if I said "oh man, I sure hope 500 cows don't explode here at this kindergarten, that would be horrid and be a huge job to clean up" some union moron would jump out of the bushes, try to lick my face while I was saying the word "job" then try to convince me that only a communist would hate it if the scenario described happened, because it would create jobs, and creating jobs is the only thing good in this world.
