Because you just basically said, "Oh you got new pets? Well enjoy them now cause they are going to die pretty soon."
Instead of, "Oh you got new pets? I had two dogs that I really enjoyed, but unfortunately they died at an early age. I miss them."
I'm not ridin' a hate train. Just pointing out the fact that he said it because he seems to see most things negatively. He said it himself that he's a pessimist.
