I'm wondering if it's just me, but has anyone else ever read anything so horrific it made you feel physically ill? I suppose if you saw something that works too, but images tend to bring that reaction out easier than just reading/hearing about something. For instance, like a book on the Holocaust or treatment of POWs. I have to read a book for my history of Asia class called "The Rape of Nanking" and it is just 300 pages of non-stop rape, torture, and murder. All graphically detailed. Just wondering if anyone else has had this reaction to anything. Sorry for rainin' on anyone's parade with my depressing post.
Eh maybe. Nothing i can recall of reading. Ive read stuff that i got tired of/annoyed at due to the large ammounts of pointless rape. *sword of truth* But thats about it.
Yea g, basically this book was like reading sword of truth except that it was factual accounts of real people so it just made it sick.
Well, every type I read "Garla Mapit" I kinda vomit in my mouth. Tongue

But seriously lol; it is possible without a doubt, but it's harder to feel sympathy and empathy for a description, as descriptions are always biased. Being presented with a image we feel it is a lot more objective (though it never is!) and we feel we are drawing our own conclusions. Our own conclusions, frighten us the easiest.
i have seen things which made me physically ill, such as the inside of a sick stomach.
