It's going to be my 21st birthday in just a little less than 2 months from now. For you non-Americans, that's when we are legally allowed to buy/consume alcohol. I have never had a drop of alcohol before and my brothers and friends are all rather excited for my 21st birthday and getting to see me drunk. I invite you all to give me suggestions on a good beer or mixed drink to have during that day. I still have not decided what my first beer ever will be. I also invite you to post your 21st birthday memories, or whatever birthday allowed you to achieve legal drinking age in your country, or just any fun drinking memory you have. This is a tavern after all.
I'm 31 now, and still don't really drink. If you've never had any alcohol before, be prepared to taste some really nasty stuff.
Alcohol is supposed to be an acquired taste. IMO if you have to acquire a taste for something, its really just not worth it. Also, it can get damn expensive. My only suggestion is to have everyone else pay for you since it will be your birthday.
Oh don't worry, I won't be paying a dime. I'm well aware of the negative side of drinking as I have watched all my friends and the things they do while drinking and since I'm sober I can actually tell they are making bad descisions. I've learned a few thigns not to do. I just hope I remember them.
Also don't drink too much too fast since you won't have any idea of what your tolerance will be. I've only really been drunk about 3 times or so, and gotten sick once, but is was enough to not want to do it again. I hate throwing up more than anything.
Yea...that's the worst. I'm going to have to pace myself. Luckily my brothers will bet here running the show and they aren't trying to get me trashed. They are just introducing me to drinking.
Hmmm if only people near me did what you did, in Scotland we have kids the age of 12-13 getting absolutly wasted.
Beer before liquor never been sicker!!
Don't mix too much, the best would be to stick to just one type but since that won't happen on your first b-day then avoid drinking beer before your liquor or else you'll be REALLY sick the next day.
I made this mistake at my prom, beer followed by smirnoff ice...ugh, ended up puking in front of some cops, the home owner, waking up in my car with my friend past out in the backseat and not remembering half of the night except for brief moments....like stumbling out of the porta john yelling and picking a fight with some hot chick
I started on Rum when i was fifteen.

Sens right, drink is a thing thats not for everybody. It also hurts your pocket badly. Though I may have been the clans "horrible Drunk" i can count on my hands how many times I have had a drink this year.
