Anyone into this game? I just started a few months back so I'm more familiar with the newer sets but slowly starting to discover some of the more famous cards of the older sets like stasis from the originals >: (.

Anyways, if you play or have cards what's your style of play?
I got into during college, my friend had a lot of cards that he let us make decks with while we got our own cards.

I used to use a soldiers deck, but I've since gone to an eldrazi oriented one.
I still have an eldrazi one, love those things hehe. It's a black/red deck which uses destroy spells and weak creatures to buy some time until I can build up some mana and summon an eldrazi. The problem with it is that I often find myself summoning an eldrazi by himself and then i'm overwhelmed =\.

Using the newer sets I've also built an interesting defender deck which revolves around the Vent Sentinel. Needs a few more cards added to it to make it better.
Mines Green/White. I got the reuputation of life gaining freak of nature who always has a life gain card in his had to pull out when he should die(Look up living destiny, and then look up the mana cost of Emrakul, the Aeons Torn).

Most of that deck is revolved around getting the eldrazi out. Creatures give mana, artifacts give mana, I've got a few awakening zones(Enchantment that gives you 1 eldrazi spawn per turn). The Awakening zones usually give me enough fodder to live long eonugh to summon enough big ass eldrazi to annihilate my opponents game.
I played some many years back, so did my brother. I think garla has some cards too.

My friend has that card. Sick. and a progentius or something like that as well in the same deck. It was a 10/10 legendary hydra with protection from everything. it cost 2 of each mana to field
Yeah, my friend has a copy of him. Only solution to beat that was to hope you had enough flying to kill your opponent before progentius killed you.
It's been a long time since I was able to stop by and say hi - been working 87-90 hrs per week and don't get on the computer too much now (when I do I usually fall asleep sitting and my ankles/calves are swollen when I wake for work... not much fun there). I hope all is well with everyone and things are going your way.
I used to play magic years ago and still have some unopened boxes of cards (I figured they would only go up in price as time marched on...). It was a fun game but cost way too much to keep completing each set that was released--let alone have four of each rare for a deck. I used to like playing a 're-animator' deck that would recycle dead creatures back into the game on my side and use any opponent creatures in his graveyard against him. But fast Red/Green, land destruction and 'Denial' Decks were fun also. It always seemed to me that they kept a good balance on things except the cost! 8)
