Jay

Jay

Jay, better known as MSJ at the tavern (short for ModernSamuraiJay), is the webdesigner of Fear's Tavern as well as the creator of the FEAR story-line and the Another Day Eh?! webcomics. The site and its two comic series are mainly a hobby and passtime for Jay as he works full time as an electrical engineer in the field of communications. Jay continues to refine his skills in drawing and animation in hopes to have more tools available at his disposal to explore his world and characters as he sees them in his mind.

The tavern was "founded" in September 2008 and has been growing and evolving ever since with new sections being added and the site increasing its focus on the world of Kyreem and the tribe known as FEAR. The story of FEAR was inspired heavily by the events of an online real time strategy game called Tribal Wars and the group of players MSJ played with for over a year. The original comic strips were created for the original members of the group of players who used to play Tribal Wars however over the course of time the story began to deviate from the inside jokes and the Tribal Wars references, and took on a life and identity of its own.

Garrett

Garrett, also known as Garla at the tavern, is a soon to be college graduate. He spends his time in the sunny southeastern United States. Fancying himself a writer and creative artist of many forms, he joined the staff at FEAR’s Tavern to help expand the ever growing story of FMS.

The character Garla in FEAR's mini-series was originally inspired from Garrett's online persona however it is safe to say that both Garla of FEAR's mini-series and Garla the writer are two entirely different characters no matter how much Garrett wishes he was a ninja.

After some time of sharing ideas with MSJ he began writing short stories for the series. He also assists in writing character profiles and has a much larger side project for the Tavern and its series in the works as well.
